I was there to shoot some video and photos. Being an F-list freelance photographer and videographer meant that I got to stand with the common people (i.e. as far away from the celebrities as possible, with moving traffic between myself and the celebrities exiting their limos on the other side of the street. Its not fun to focus your camera for a shot only to have a moving auto take the place of the celebrity you were planning to shoot.)
The best scenes in the video occurred when Josh Lucas, Jacinda Barrett, and Jon Voigt, were kind enough to cross the street despite the traffic and acknowledge fans by signing autographs. Emmy Rossum also crossed the street to sign autographs, but her sojourn the plebian side of the street was so hurried I didn't have an opportunity to capture her beauty on video. She did look very lovely.
I did apply for a press pass for this event, but was told that 'The red carpet is full'. Full for a newcomer to the celebrity photo business, of course. Sigh.
